2024: from 8 July to 25 August

Every year, Belgium has mandatory construction holidays. During this period, almost all establishments related to the construction sector are closed. As an owner of a (new construction) home, you must take this construction holiday into account. In this article, you will find an overview of all construction holiday dates in the coming years for the different regions of Belgium.

For the Flemish Region, the construction break takes place in 2024 from Monday 8 July to Sunday 25 August inclusive.

In addition to holiday pay, you must also take into account other possible costs during the construction break period:

• Your contractor may charge extra for working during the construction break.
• Some suppliers close during the construction break and will not deliver or install.
• You may have to take extra time off work to supervise the construction work.
